I filed for divorce in May . It was an uncontested divorce , it is now the end of August. My lawyer called and now my husband wants to back out of divorce . It seems that my husband hired a lawyer and said that the marriage can be saved and he signed the paperwork under false pretenses. Has any one ever had this happen . My lawyer said he doesn’t have a case.

He can’t force you to stay married to him, if thats what your asking in a roundabout way.
You can BOTH cancel the divorce, but not just one if the other still wants a divorce.
You are not obligated to stay married if you don’t want to be, this is a free country and you can divorce if you want to.

He can hold up your divorce, but in due time he will have to divorce you. Just hold in there the judge or mediator will rule it out a divorce.
bottom line – he can contest it, but the longer you stay separated the easier its going to be in court. dont know how your state works, but in de if you are apart 6 months or more the other spouse cant do anything about the divorce
No he can not stop the divorce , he can however make it take forever by doing this but what will happen is the judge will overrule him and YOU will still end up with what you want .Don’t worry he can’t MAKE you stay married to him
He can’t stop it, he might be able to delay things but not stop things.
